HEBI Robotics Releases New H-Series Actuator

Submitted by HEBI Robotics

Pittsburgh, PA (May 1, 2024) — HEBI Robotics, a Pittsburgh-based robotics company and spin-off of Carnegie Mellon University’s renowned Biorobotics Lab, expands its offerings with the new H-Series platform of smart robotic actuators. HEBI’s H-Series introduces unmatched versatility, precision, and torque to create custom robots for challenging environments. The H-Series is a fully-featured robotic component with onboard IMU, current sensing, and over-temperature protection. This allows it to be used in everything from wheeled robots to collaborative robot arms.

With zero backlash and up to 140 Nm continuous torque, the H-Series was purpose-built to provide more versatility and torque while still withstanding rugged conditions. HEBI’s H-Series actuators run on anything from 24V-48V DC and communicate using standard 100Mbps Fiber-Optic Ethernet allowing for easy, flexible integration with less downtime.

“The H-Series is an exciting expansion of the HEBI ecosystem,” says Bob Raida, CEO of HEBI Robotics. “HEBI’s long term vision is to create the next generation of robotic tools and put the power of robot development into the hands of every worker, whether they’re a technician, farmer, or anything else. In order to do that we are continuously expanding the capabilities and versatility of our platform. The H-Series is an important step in that direction.”

Each H-Series Actuator® is sealed to IP65 and designed with HEBI’s great modular flexibility but now with more over 10X more power and more precise position control. Starting today, customers can buy it in HEBI’s online store, or view the technical documentation.

HEBI Robotics provides cross-platform software tools that make configuring and controlling the H-Series a breeze, with features such as live plotting, control from mobile devices like phones and tablets, and APIs for MATLAB, ROS, C/C++, and Python.
